School Intership Phase I

School internship is an essential and practical component of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) curriculum, serving as a crucial bridge between theoretical knowledge and real-world classroom application. During this mandatory internship, student-teachers are placed in actual schools for a specified period, where they observe experienced teachers, prepare and deliver lesson plans, manage classrooms, and engage in various co-curricular activities. This hands-on experience allows them to develop critical teaching skills, understand the dynamics of student-teacher interaction, and adapt their pedagogical approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners. The internship not only builds confidence and competence but also provides a platform for receiving constructive feedback from mentors, which is vital for professional growth and preparing them to become effective and well-rounded educators.

Our school Intership Phase I has started on July 21 ends the first session on August 14 as the Onam vacation is ahead.

We have chosen St. Stephen's High school, pathanapuram as our school of choice for intership.

St. Stephen's Higher Secondary School is a prominent educational institution in Pathanapuram, Kerala, with a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1926. The school is a boys-only institution for grades 5-10, though it also offers higher secondary classes (11 and 12) with academic streams like Commerce, Science, and Humanities, which are co-educational. Managed by the Mount Tabor Dayara under the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, the school follows the Kerala State Board of Education curriculum and offers both Malayalam and English medium sections. It is known for its strong emphasis on a well-rounded education that includes academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, fostering a supportive environment for student growth and development.

We have joined the school as interns. There are 10 students from various Department of education such as Social science, physical science, mathematics, english. We have assigned with classess and portions to be taken by the concerned teacher in charge.

I have allotted with the charge of VIII.D for teaching Social Science. After some initial rapport and interactions with the students I have started to take class. First lesson plan was completed in that session,the topic was Rotation,day and night and corilos effect from the third unit Movement of the Earth: Rotation and Revolution.

I have made an innovative product to teach the day and night and Circle of illumination to the students.the class went effective.

It was a rewarding day at school. I have monitored the students who were participating quiz competition conducted by the school.And I took class for 8. D as well. Lesson plan 2 was completed.the topic was revolution, perihelion and aphelion and apparent movement of the sun.

Even though it was Saturday the school declared it as a working day as there were number of leaves were allotted because of different reasons.

Today I again got an opportunity to monitor the students who were participating quiz competition conducted in the school. It was an enriching experience.Also I have taken class for the students of 8 th standard on the basis of Thursday timetable. The topic was Utharayanm, dakshinayanm, different seasons and characteristics of seasons.,from lesson plan 4

I have taken classes eight standard students it was a rewarding day. The topic was Time, local time ,from lesson plan 5 Met the HM and she allotted for other duty rather than teaching. Like monitoring and take care of discipline inside the campus.

It was a pleasant day at the school. School sports day events have cick started today. Sub junior students were participated in different sports events . Also had classess in eight standard. The topic was standard time, greenwich mean time and Indian standard time from the lesson plan 6.

I have got an opportunity to monitor the sports day activity at the second day. Junior students were participating in the sports event's. Also had class for eight standard students.,on Time zones,and international date line.

 It was a special day ,as the school was celebrating its sports day. The senior students were participated in events. Also prize distribution were done. A feast have arranged afterwards for the teachers. It was a memorable day.There were no classes in school as the sports day events has conducting.

It's a new month with new hope and challenges. I have had classess in eight standard students, it was substitution class from the arts teacher. The topic was Basic needs, gratifying needs and characteristics of needs, from the chapter 4-Basic economic problems and the Economy, it was a fruitful day. scout day was celebrated in the school on the very day.
